I hope you do well slabby good luck bro. Rather not get into a my fish is bigger than your fish brawl. My intentions for shab is more for hanging out with our kids and friends I only see maybe once ot twice a year. Having to much excitement of 300+ will take that away. Perch fishing is another story and not as easy as you think. Try to find the bigger fish 13+" in June, July and August. When you show me you and a few friends caught say a 4 man limit (60 fish) in July I'll buy you a steak dinner. Have fun at bangs.

You should come up to Waukegan this spring out in 50 60 FOW when they catch on fire ... Try slow trolling with bottom bouncers and small crank baits off the bottom , you will be suprise on the numbers of nice perch and how fast you catch them compared to live bait... It eliminated the dinks from biting too ...

I have heard plenty about the Waukegan bite from many guys and they all tell me the same thing. This being the heavy bite usually lasts maybe 2-3 weeks at best and then tapers down. Alot of guys I know from Waukegan start their fishing down south here in early March and fish down here until the bite at Waukegan picks up which maybe in April sometime and catch them for the 2-3 weeks up there then return back south for the remainder of the season. Those size fish you catch up there for the 2-3 weeks are the size fish I(we) catch and try to stay on all year and document and record various information.
No live bait for me! Various jigging spoons and plastics are the only presentation we work. Yeah cranks and bouncers are a great way to get action but not the way we usually catch the perch down here. We use that type of presentation on other fish down here I'd rather not talk about. So I know Waukegan has a good bite for a short time it's just not logical for me to drive the 80 miles up there when I have the southend of the lake basically in my back yard and fish it almost 5 days a week for many years. So if you need someone to put you on fish when things are tough all over get in touch with me. Once all of my paperwork is in order I will be one of only a handful of guides on this side of the lake. If you wish to discuss this further start a new thread. Take care and good luck at WOW, Waukegan and wherever you may travel.....

Poorboy, I wuild love to fish with you on those unmentionable fish. They are fokelore around here and I have always said they should be in there and have seen the proof in photos only. That is one of the 100 things I want to do before I die!
